Bloomsbury

Group: Hannah, Kelsey and I Leader: Kelsey Thompson
We went on an adventure to see the British museum and decided it would be the perfect time for this walk. Although a very short walk, it was very interesting. We saw a lot of places where important people lived including Dicken's house and we saw the British museum as well as the hospital for sick children. I liked this walk a lot, but especially enjoyed taking a peak into the British museum. I actually didn't love the walk other than the fact that we got to do that. I also loved seeing a YMCA. How cool is that?

Lambeth and Southbank

Leader: Me Group: Me
I have to say that I really enjoy going on walks alone. Not because I don't enjoy the company of others, but because I seem to soak in what I see a lot easier when I don't have to entertain others at the same time. Sound selfish? Maybe...this walk was so fun! I have to say that I enjoyed some of the less important things like the grafiti filled skate park and the people in costumes lining the road by the river. This one picture is of a man painted blue just hanging out with his blue guitar. Of course I was stunned by the London eye...but who isn't? I actually got to ride on it that night. I enjoyed this walk and seeing all the interesting people walking in Southbank.

Inns of Court

Leader of this group was Kristen Egbert. She lead: Nick, Macy, Hannah, and I.
After church we decided to head to this walk. Turns out that the Temple station was closed so we ended up taking a bus to the place we needed to start. First time I've been on a bus in London so I was excited! I was fascinated with the Royal Courts of Justice. There are sixty court rooms that deal with civil justice! I find it so interesting to see how law is viewed here and the need for them in London to make these elaborate, powerful looking buildings for the Courts of Justice. Also I was so intrigued with the Knight's Templar and really want to know more about it!

Fleet Street and St. Paul's

We got quite lost on this walk partially because I was the leader. On the walk: McKenna, Emily, Kelsey, Cory, and Bree

We did this walk right after our tour of St. Paul's Cathedral which was, of course, spectacular. For some reason I had a particular interest in the recent cleaning of the building. I love that they kept one stone dirty so we could see what it used to look like. We got lost at the Blackfriar pub which is actually very interesting to look at. Somehow we found the College of arms which I thought was very interesting. This honestly wasn't one of my favorite walks though, it was just way too complicated for my taste.

Central Parks

People on this walk: Me, myself, and I
I think this was my favorite walk so far! I just love the parks here because they are huge and wonderful! My favorite park I went through though was Kensington. I don't know what it is about that park, but it is just phenomenal. It's just full of runners and people playing and chatting! I don't really get the round pond because it's not really THAT wonderful although water is just nice anywhere. Speaking of water...the Serpintine Rd. was the best part of my night. I got to run next to a beautiful river full of swans! Best thing ever! Also once again, I'm loving Big Ben.

Westminster Walk

In our group we had: Nick, Kristin(leader), Alexa and I
Westminster Walk was amazing! My favorite thing was coming out from the underground station and just seeing this brilliant Parliament Building and Big Ben! I have to say that Big Ben was my favorite thing that we saw because it just seems like such an intricate design although the shape is simple. I also loved walking past the gate where Prince William came out for his wedding. The shops that we walked by on this walk seemed very high class and probably are very expensive, but I loved walking past them and maybe will go back when they're open. I actually saw the church of England along with a bunch of other churches...funny and quiet entertaining to see a book about the "deceiving thoughts of Atheism". Westminster looks a lot like Notre Dame in my opinion. So naturally...I loved it because I love Notre Dame so much!

Regent's Park Walk

Regent's Par was beautiful! In my group we had Group Leaders: Tara, Nick, and I...and also Shalisha, and Scott.

I did a little research on Regent's park after coming home and dicovered that it used to be a hunting ground and was designated so by King Henry VIII. I loved the different flowers in one area of Regent's park, although the flowers weren't quite blooming yet so I plan to go back. I loved the playing grounds and the little rowing area. There was also a child's rowing area which I thought was so cute! Long walk...but I loved it.
